A Special Place

Today I wanted to share with you a little project that is very special to me as it includes an element that was the very first thing I learnt to make at my very first Stampin up craft class! The flower made from punched butterflies! It was also the first thing I demonstrated when I ventured out doing my own classes.....

The colour combo I used here was perfect plum and rich razzleberry.

The first card was created by stamping the large image from the Paisley Petals stamp set, in versa mark ink onto the rich razzleberry card. I am not sure if the picture really pics this up but it gives a lovely watermark effect. I then used a small piece of coordinating designer paper, cream velvet ribbon and a few pearls.

The second card I have stamp onto some perfect plum card to create my own backing paper, again using the paislet petals stamp set and versa mark ink. A small piece of paisley prints designer paper I think really makes this card pop. I stamped an image onto white card using perfect plum ink and daubed the edges.

Now onto my much beloved flower! This was created using 4 punched butterflies. Each one was sprayed with water and scrunched up. They were the secured with a gem brad a very effective yet simple technique I love it.

Well I am off to pack the car up now as I have a card class this aft in Selby with 7 lovely ladies. Anyone interested in coming along and joining us please get in touch.

Hoping to get away camping this weekend but looking at the weather is isnt looking too likely AGAIN, not managed to make it away once yet this year not a happy camping bunny....

Well I'm back....

Well firstly I must apologise for the lack of posts over the last 2 weeks..... But I have just landed back in the country after spending 10 fab days in a very sunny Ibiza. Ate too much, drank too much but had a blooming good time :)

Anyway today I thought I would share with you a couple of cards I made for a guy I work with, they were for his teenage daughters so I tried to keep them quite modern looking.

The first card is made using one of my favourite colour combinations black and melon mambo.

I used the broadsheet alphabet stamp set to stamp the name, a freebie I received for completing my stampin start woo hoo. If you would like info on you too could receive fab freebies like this please get in touch.
Finally to finish the card off a bit of black spotty ribbon and an embossed plower using the fin flowers die.

The second card uses the colour comb old olive and elegant eggplant.

Again I used the broadsheet alphabet to stamp the name and cut out the letters using the circle punch. The flowers were stamped using a hostess stamp set and a few coodinating buttons.
Anyway I must go now and attack the mountain of washing I have, it would rival Ben Nevis! Sorry for the short post but I will be back again soon.
Lots of Love

A Card for Mum.....

I hope you are all having a fab weekend. This is a little card I made for my Mum, she has been really ill recently and I really hope she gets better soon as my and Phoebe are missing our shopping buddy :)

The colours used to create this card are very vanilla, bashful blue & crumb cake. I used the top note die, a well used favourite of mine, and stamped it using the flourish from the everything eleanor stamp set. I then created the flowers by punching out circles, cutting them into swirls and wrapping then around a pair of scissors, I was pretty pleased with how these turned out. the broadsheet stamp set was used to stamp out MUM in chocolate chip ink and I cut out the letters using the small frame punch. I finished the card off with a dies cut flourish and some blue butterflies created using the butterfly embosslet.
Finally I gathered up some crochet ribbon to give the card a vintage feel.

Enjoy the rest of your long weekend..... I love the fact that the Queen chose to have her party on a Tuesday one of the 2 days that a work, bonus an extra day off for me, YIPEE

First Ever Post da dahhhh.........

Well I never thought this day would come but yes I have finally got round to writing my first ever post! Wooo Hooo!!! At this point my Stampin up buddy Nicki has probably passed out with shock hehe.....
Anyway here is the frist project that I want to share with you all. It was made at my last Wednesday club.

The Base is an easel design made using the Whisper White Card all edges are then daubed with crumb cake ink, as my ladies from my class know I do love a bit of daubing it hides a multitude of sins.
To make the topper I used cherry cobbler card and rounded the corners using the stampin' up! punch, I then applied two strips of ribbon the stripped grosgrain ribbon in soft suede and the new pleated ribbon in riding red hood.

The rossette was made using a strip of twitterpated designer paper, which I edged using the border punch and scored using my new favourite tool..... the Simply Scored Scoring Board, it makes life so easy! I then applied an antique brad to finish it off.

I used a stamp from the Apothecary Art set, coloured it using stampin up markers and a blender pen to give it a water colour finish. i am the least artistic person when it comes to painting but these pens make it possible for anyone to create a fab finish. Framelits dies which coordinate perfectly with this stamp set were then used to cut this out. Finally using the Happy Birthday greeting, again from the Apothecart Art stamp set, I used chocolte chip ink and applied it to the top of the image sticking on a few gems for a bit of bling.

On the base of the card i applied a piece of cherry cobbler card, twiitterpatted designer paper & a small piece of pleated ribbon to hold the card in place.

Well that it my first post over, I do hope you like it!

I hope you all have a fab Jubilee weekend! We are going to losts of garden parties at the local pubs with a group of freinds and family, I can't think of a better way to celebrate the weekend just hope the sun makes an appearance.
